Fibromyalgia Care Pathway
Pain Management
Acupuncture-based care for widespread pain, fatigue, poor sleep, brain fog, and flare management.
Fibromyalgia often affects more than pain alone. It may also disrupt sleep, energy, concentration, mood, and daily function. At Lotus Care, treatment is structured, stage-based, and adjusted over time to support steadier recovery.
Fibromyalgia Symptoms We Treat
Our fibromyalgia treatment may help with:
- Widespread pain and tenderness
- Fatigue and post-exertional flare-ups
- Poor sleep and waking unrefreshed
- Brain fog and reduced focus
- Stiffness and movement hesitation
- Stress-related symptom worsening
- Reduced daily function and slower recovery
How Fibromyalgia Treatment Is Planned
Your treatment begins with a structured intake. When appropriate, we use tools such as WPI-SSS and FIQR to understand symptom burden, function, and recovery needs. Follow-up may include brief weekly tracking of pain, sleep, fatigue, flare triggers, and daily function so treatment can be adjusted more precisely.
What Fibromyalgia Care May Include
Depending on your presentation, care may include:
- Acupuncture
- Electroacupuncture when appropriate
- Warm acupuncture or moxibustion for cold-sensitive patterns
- Herbal support when appropriate
- Pacing and sleep guidance
- Tai chi or Baduanjin
- Graded movement or exercise support
- Home strategies for flare prevention
Your plan is personalized. Not every patient needs the same treatment frequency or combination of care.
What Improvement Usually Looks Like
Early treatment may first reduce pain peaks, tension, and pre-sleep arousal. Broader improvement in sleep, fatigue, and function is usually judged more clearly over 8-12 weeks, with milestone review around week 4, week 8, and week 12.
Who This Fibromyalgia Treatment Is For
This page is for people who:
- have fibromyalgia
- suspect fibromyalgia
- feel stuck in a cycle of pain, fatigue, poor sleep, and flare-ups
- want a structured treatment plan instead of one-off symptom relief
- want acupuncture integrated with pacing, movement, and follow-up
When Further Medical Review Is Needed
Further medical review is important if symptoms are atypical, rapidly worsening, or linked with fever, major weight loss, progressive weakness, focal neurologic symptoms, or severe psychiatric risk. Reassessment is also important when there is little meaningful response after 8-12 weeks of a well-executed base plan.
Fibromyalgia FAQ
Do I need a diagnosis before booking?
No. An initial assessment can help determine whether your presentation fits a fibromyalgia pattern.
Is this only acupuncture?
No. Acupuncture is central, but treatment may also include pacing, sleep support, movement guidance, and selected adjunctive care.
What if exercise usually triggers a flare?
That is common. The goal is graded activity and better pacing, not aggressive exercise.
Are herbs required?
No. Herbs may be used selectively, but they are not required.
